Comics and Coffee anyone?

Okay the NCC died for a while.  It shrunk to simply the yahoo group.  Meetings and the LJ community were left in the dust.

But we miss it, so we're trying to bring it back in a new form.  The thought at the moment is to start having monthly meetings at some locations like Starbucks.  Possibly rotate them around Nashville, because distance issues were part of what killed the group the first time around.  We'll be making announcements here as to when/where meetings will be held once we figure it out..

If you're interested feel free to chime in here with time/place suggestions.  All that we ask is that you have some interest in MAKING comics, either as a writer or artist or editor, and live in/near Nashville.

The good news is many members of the old group have still been busy Making comics.  Ashley and I are going to be debuting her Orange and Blue Cream comic sometime in the next few months (the plan is April).  We redesigned her website for it (http://www.amoebadreams.net/Ashley).

Chris and Erica Well have debutted their new strip The Best Mann for the Job.

Erica is giving a talk at the Nashville Artist Guild meeting this weekend (it's free).

I found this http://collectorsexpo.info/
Haven't had a chance to attend though.  Anyone been to one?  Thoughts?

Hurrah! NCC Lives!
Glad you guys are back from the dead! That tends to happen from time to time with groups such as these. But like the Phoenix you rise from the ashes...

Comics and Coffee
I for one would love to meet you guys although I wouldn't be able to meet on a regular schedule. Between family, deadlines, and martial arts I stay pretty busy but would absolutely love to meet. I'm in the Spring Hill area but I'm fine to go up to the Brentwood area. Going into Nashville would be a little too far given my schedule. Glad to have found you guys.

Re: Comics and Coffee
Yeah, I've been swamped too, so comics and coffee hasn't happened yet. Most of us are in the Donelson/Hermitage area. (for us locals everything in Davidson county is "Nashville")

These two are more in your direction, though. Erica has done some comic talks now and then. She also suffers from uber busy but has in the past expressed that it would be cool to do little meetings all over.

We are a group of artists and writers with a common interest in creating entertaining comics
as a medium of self-expression, recreation and education. Our goal is to inspire, critique,
and encourage one another so we all grow artistically as individuals and as a group.

We welcome members of all ages, backgrounds, styles and skill levels interested in active participation of this goal. Since we welcome younger members (as well as old fogies), we keep all common-shared APA material All-Ages appropriate.
